The RCT has brought together
local restaurateurs, representatives
from the Northwest Illinois Local
Foods Task Force, and other
community leaders to drive this
project forward. The team has a
preliminary business plan, and
has identified an interested
restaurateur with decades of
proven success. The team now
seeks investors to augment public
monies and bring this vision to

The Powerhouse Restaurant will bring new life to the east
end of Main Street, serving a significant demand from
visitors to Freeport, and downtown employees for lunch
and after work. As a new stand-out downtown dining
destination, it will offer more than a meal, but also the
experience of the rich flavor and variety of regional
food and drinks.

In addition to the restaurant and bar, the rear section of the
Powerhouse and adjoining space in Building B offer an
opportunity for a large, upscale banquet facility.
